Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel. The morning unfolds with a traditional Aboriginal "Welcome to Country" ceremony, a profoundly moving introduction to the land's heritage. Following this, engage in an Indigenous talk and partake in the Kipli Takawa Aboriginal bush food tour, savouring a vegan meal inspired by local bush flavours—an extraordinary culinary treat. Vital to the culture, "Palawa Kipli" means "Tasmanian indigenous food", and the business proudly celebrates traditional food practices, fostering cultural revival and supporting the Tasmanian Aboriginal community through impactful engagement.
In the afternoon, embark on a Private Premium Tour led by a passionate guide at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Bonorong is not a zoo, it is a working sanctuary where rescued wildlife are treated, rehabilitated and, where possible, released back into the wild. You’ll encounter native quolls, wombats, wallabies, Tasmanian devils, echidnas and many more species unique to Tasmania and Australia.
Begin with a complimentary drink and hear the inspiring story of Bonorong’s mission, setting the tone for an extraordinary wildlife adventure. Meet resident animals, each with unique stories and explore the sanctuary as the nocturnal animals are starting their days and others are enjoying their evening meal.
